If you'll remember last July, The Fitness Circuit (soon to be Ki'netik Fitness) invited you to join us for the Sue Crowe Arts Fest 5K.  Seventy-two people stepped up to train and ultimately run with us!  Here's a photo of us to the right, in front of Beaver Stadium just before the race.  It was a high point for Scott & I, seeing so many new people learning to love running - most of which had never ran more than a mile in their lives prior to the beginning of our training schedule!
 
Just like in our daily workouts, we want to encourage you to push yourself, try something new and go further into fitness than you ever thought you could.  And now we're upping the ante!
 
We're doing a half marathon!  And we'd like nothing more than for you to join us.
 
The Pittsburgh half marathon is on Sunday May 6, 2012 - and we want you there with us! 
Even if you've never run a day in your life, we have enough time to safely and properly train you to run this 13.1 miles with us.  Just like with all of our group events - it's not about the time you finish, it's about finishing and accomplishing something you never thought you were capable of!  This half marathon could be your next step toward a new level of fitness - no matter how old or young you are.  If you haven't seen it before, check out the video testimonial from Bill & Jen found here: http://thefitnesscircuit.com/testimonials  Jen ran her first half marathon in Philly this September and Bill will run his with us in Pittsburgh!  In fact, in this video they challenge me to do it with them! Well I guess it worked! 
 
Scott & I ran our first half marathon back in March of this year.  And several other members ran their first half in the Philadelphia race this past September.  Now it's your turn.  
 
Here's what you'll get:
 - A training schedule that will give you the opportunity to meet up with coaches and friends for run-member-only indoor workouts and outdoor group runs.  Our training program will slowly ease you into running and will progress you as we meet our collective goal - the Pittsburgh Half Marathon!  Exciting stuff!
 - A TFC team t-shirt to have and wear on run day; we'll go in as a group and we'll finish as a group - some faster, some slower, but we will all finish!
 - A team!  If two heads are better than one, four legs are better than two!  We'll work together, encourage and push each other to the finish line.  If we've learned one thing from our recent 5K training, it's that the group training was almost as fun as the event.
 - A discount!  The Pittsburgh Marathon has agreed to give us a limited-time discount.  It's just $65 to register.  But we have a very tight deadline to be eligible to get in at this price. 
 - A State College run packet!  We are working with local businesses to put together a really great packet of coupons and products for our runners to use before and after the race.  (The half marathon organizers will also be giving us a packet on race day)
 
Here's what we need from you:
 - Your commitment!  It's the most important thing.  Everything else can be trained, but YOU have to make the commitment to doing this!  This is a non-refundable endeavor...but who needs a refund when you have a commitment!

 - Your checks.  Along with your paperwork, we need two checks by the Oct 27th deadline. 1. $65 (made out to the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon)  2. $49 (made out to "The Fitness Circuit") which includes your race day TFC t-shirt, a complete training program including weekly runs and many indoor TFC weekend workouts that are specific to our half marathon run crew, and your State College run packet. 
 
That's one registration form, two checks and most importantly - your commitment to train with us, push yourself to new, great things and finish a half marathon ... by October 27th.
